But I still wondered, is it for real, or is it a scam? I was brought up that if something sounded to good to be true, it probably is, or its a scam. But for some reason this really had my attention. I kept going back and reading more about it for a couple weeks…then finally…

I decided to sign up in late december of 2009 and payed the sign up fee and joined. I knew if it worked that I would make more than it cost me to start. I saved up my reciepts and then started mailing them in each and every month, and then waited for my gas rebate check in the mail. At first I was so worried, I don’t have alot of money, so if this was a scam I was gonna feel really dumb and mad if it didn’t work, I was worrying even more when after 30 days I hadn’t gotten my first check. I went to their site and checked to see if it had been mailed, and the system showed that the check was in the mail, so I continued to wait. Finally, I got my first gas rebate check in Feb 2010, it took almost 60 days to get that first check and I was so relieved when I got it. How Much Does It Cost?

Now lets talk about the cost to join. In the long term this program is really a free service, but you have to pay to get started. I know that sounds confusing, but its not. Let me explain it to you. ( I will use my sign up to explain it )

When you join the filler up club you are able to join in $200 increments based on how much fuel you use each month.

If you pay $200 you can send in up to $65 in receipts each month, and you get a $32.50 gas rebate back,

pay $400 and send in up to $130 a month, and get a $65 gas rebate back (this is the level I choose to start),

pay $600 and send in up to $195 a month and get a $97.50 gas rebate back. And so on…then it’s just $10 monthly to stay a member. The maximum you can send in is $1000 in receipts,  with a $500 rebate back each month.

So let me show you why this is such a great deal. I paid $400 dollars one time to start, so I can send in $130 in receipts every month, and get a $65 rebate back every month, minus my $10 member fee. So I make $55 dollars a month every month for as long as I am a member(the rest of my life)for paying $400 one-time. So its like this, I paid $400 to start, then I got $55 back in feb, $55 in march, all the way till now. So I have recieved 12 payments of $55 since I started, which equals $660, so I have made more money then what it cost to start and I keep getting more gas rebate checks every month! By buying gas in bulk the oil company is willing to offer them discounts on the fuel because we buy so much as a group.
